I will always remember Uncle Roger's generosity with his time and willingness to help whenever he could. From teaching me to drive standard in his Toyota van to letting me use his old pickup for cutting lawns as a summer job. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I was lucky to have Roger as my neighbour twice in my life. In the ealy 1980's we lived in separate units in a new, sprawling apartment complex on the Red River in St.Vital. He was vey easy to talk to and on weekends we would get together for a drink and a barbeque. After a few years we both graduated to home ownership, moving to nearby River Park South and we became backyard neighbours. Roger taught me how to curl and was my skip for a few seasons in a mixed league. He was a great instructor, patient, helpful and always full of good cheer. I knew he'd like to win but with a low-skilled player on his team like me there was little chance of success. The objective of this mixed league was to have fun and Roger made sure we did.Roger always had interesting stories about his life in Swan River; full of baseball, curling and hockey. He often spoke about the great times he had with his family. They loved him and he loved them back. Roger was a born entrepreneur. Not content with his managerial job he took the gutsy move of leaving this safe position to start his own trucking/distribution business. He worked extremely hard and was fully committed to its success.I know he struggled as many new businesses do. But it is people like Roger, who have a dream and are willing to take on new challenges and the associated risks that create the dynamic, prosperous economy we Canadians all enjoy. After about 5 years of being neighbours we both sold our homes, moved away, and lost contact with each other. My memories of Roger will forever be of a confident, young, energetic man, who loved athletics and was always willing to lend a neighbour a helping hand. Now I imagine he is somewhere on a curling rink, telling some dumb city boy the difference between an in turn and an out turn.I miss you Roger. My condolences to the entire Greig family.

I only met Roger once or twice, when he came to one of the Friday morning groups at the CNIB, which I also attend. Us attendees were all shocked and saddened to learn of his passing as the couple that help run the group had been to see him shortly before his death, and said that he was doing well then.Having lost my own father just last year, I can empathize with the pain that his much-loved children are feeling during the times when they miss him the most. He was a friendly man who enjoyed being with others. We didn't get to talk to each other very much, but I've no doubt that he was a devoted husband, father and friend. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Remember that he is always with you in your heart.

I met Roger in Lynn Lake. We played ball for Fox Mine along with Dave Kobelka. We had fun playing ball and more fun on the weekends in the house boat and learning to waterski. After Lynn Lake ( 1972 - 74 ), I lost track of Roger and onlt through Dave Kobelka, found out about Roger's passing. He is in a better place nowKris

We had some great times together, curling, water skiing and simply socializing. It certainly was too early in your life for this to happen.
