Our Story
Richard Wojcik, a Winnipeg funeral director and embalmer, began his career at age 12 in Beausejour, Manitoba, performing maintenance work at a local funeral home. He went on to complete a two-year apprenticeship through the Western School of Mortuary Practice at the University of Manitoba, then spent 11 years working at funeral chapels across Manitoba, including Russell's Funeral Home, Sobering Funeral Chapel, Chapel Lawn, Korban, Green Acres, Cropo, and Leatherdale Gardiner locations.
He also served as a firefighter and ambulance volunteer in Beausejour before opening his own chapel.

Our Facilities
We operate two locations to better serve our community:
Funeral Chapel
2157 Portage AvenueWinnipeg, MB R3J 0L4
Our main chapel at Portage Avenue offers a warm, welcoming environment for visitations, memorial services, and funeral ceremonies. The facility includes a common area where family and friends can gather before or after visiting the cemetery, accommodating services of all sizes and faiths.
Crematorium
51 Nicola DriveHeadingley, MB R4H 0A9
Our family-owned crematorium in Headingley ensures that your loved one never leaves our care and is not transferred outside of Winnipeg or the Province of Manitoba to be cremated. This direct oversight provides families with complete peace of mind.
Why Families Choose Us
Over the past several years, large multinational organizations have been purchasing funeral homes at an alarming rate. The early nineties saw hundreds of family-operated funeral homes across North America brought into the fold of large firms that, while trying to maintain a family operation appearance, quickly increase prices and enforce merchandising policies geared to increase their bottom lines.
Wojcik's remains an original family-owned and operated funeral chapel. Our salaried funeral directors are not commission-based salespeople. We encourage you to compare prices and services, and we offer free consultations with no obligation. We truly believe that we offer the highest quality funeral services, cremations, and memorial services at the greatest value in Winnipeg.
Service Area
Wojcik's is proud to have served several generations from Winnipeg and surrounding areas of Manitoba, including Headingley, Brandon, Carman, Anola, Lac du Bonnet, Tyndall, Garson, Whitemouth, Pinawa, Powerview, and numerous other communities, including Richard's home town of Beausejour, Manitoba where he was born and raised.
