I am so sorry for your loss. Micheal was a gem, rare and beautiful. I first met him in our grade 3 class when I moved to Athlone Drive. Somehow I found out it was our teacher’s birthday and I thought we should have a surprise party for her. As we were distributing the party tasks to the other classmates, I remember Michael coming up to me and saying I was good at planning. In those young years, when girls and boys barely noticed each other, and me being new to the school, I never forgot the sincere compliment. Though I moved away and lost contact with many school friends I often thought, as my career as a capital projects manager, how Michael had pegged me so well in grade 3. I thought of Micheal over the years and knew that where ever he was, that same smile and sincerity would be shining through and whomever was part of his life was indeed very fortunate to be in his presence.

I am very sorry for your families loss. Michael was a very kind and giving man as I knew him from being on the Social Welfare committee at work. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Anne and family. So shocked and sorry to see Michael s obit in today’s paper. Words are never adequate. I remember the boys knowing each other through football games and also later having some games/cards nights. One card game was at your house in the middle of a Winnipeg snowstorm - and you ended up with unexpected overnight guests. Another story is about Michael fixing a car and the car somehow shifting and landing/pressing on his head - but he was OK.!!?! The years go by and our lives take different paths but I have warm/good memories of the two of you. Wishing you strength and grace. Hugs Elly Janzen
