My condolences. I met John in Gillam when he joined his son John, me, and several of our friends, on a snowmobile excursion from Limestone GS to Port Nelson on the Hudson Bay coast. We set up a large prospector tent with a wood stove and we offered to make room for John but he didn\'t want to intrude. He came completely self sufficient and set up his own little tent complete with a small stove burning 3-hour logs to provide heat. It was quite a long ride, breaking trail through deep snow, and a couple of steep hills that we struggled to climb. Although John was quite a bit older than all of us he was one tough character, and very capable of looking after himself. He clearly loved the outdoors and was a pleasure to spend time with.

To the Watt Family, please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of your Husband, Father and Grandfather. I had the honour of working for John in the mid-sixties, during our time together as Members of the Provost Corps, at CJATC Rivers, Manitoba. John as the Section Sargeant and I as a young Soldier. I can truly say that I worked for no finer individual than John Watt. A true gentleman and leader, who set the example and standard that my success in the military resulted from. I owe him so much. Rest in peace John, till we meet again.

I have many fond memories of my Uncle John. He had a great sense of humour & a really special way with all us kids. As an adult, he kept us amused & captivated with his many stories of his army life, camping and guiding adventures. We always enjoyed our times with him & his family. Our condolences and love to his wife, Anna, and to the rest of his family. He will be sadly missed. Karen Roberts
