I had the pleasure of meeting John though my work with the CAW Retirees. He was a true inspiration. Someone who loved his family, loved life and loved his union. Always ready to share and joke or story, he was admired by everyone. He will be sadly missed. My condolences to Mary Helen and the family.

It was always nice to have coffee with John in the morning at the airport coffee shop. There was John Fred Epps, Sheryl Ginter and I, we had some great laughs. John talked alot about wife Mary Helen and his concerns about her health, that man sure loved her. John will be missed greatly.

John was a great union leader and friend. If you felt down he always had a joke or comment that would make you smile and lift your spirits. He will truly be missed.

I didn't know John perhaps as well as many others but, in knowing and working with him in his later years, I saw an individual committed to fighting for working people. Good-hearted and light-hearted and always ready to take up a good cause.

John was a tough negotiator for the union; but was always ready to help everybody
