Just returned to the city and heard the sad news. I know he had not been well for some time but always a shock. I will always remember the long conversations we had about the proper way to clean the house and wash clothes. You can't talk about those things with most men. Tons of fun and lots of laughs. I will miss him very much.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with John when my husband and I were in Winnipeg. He was such a great guy to work with every day. Regardless of the challenges that we faced there was nothing that couldn't be worked out. He believed in laughter as part of everyday medicine. He was really one of a kind.
